Balance and Harmony, Truth and Wisdom
Based around the idea of the dragon, phoenix and the pearl of wisdom garnered from eastern mythology. The pearl is a shimmering sphere comprised of cylindrical glass beads that hover above a symmetrical base of 180 inverted ceramic cones that tend to sway and vibrate. Protecting the pearl by encircling it are a large dragon and phoenix in winged flight, composed of sheets of pale green polycarbonate. 12’ in diameter, 12’ high. 2011
Can’t We All Just Get Along
Using icons culled from images and ideas in today’s news, this piece dwells on the inability of elected officials to arrive at consensus and improve the state of our country and its economy. Casting slip, steel, silver coated copper wire, dry dock boat shrink wrap, pressure cooker jiggler. Suspended from 13’, obelisk 11’, sphere 8’ in diameter. 2012
What Was That?
The two floors that this piece was installed on appeared to be two separate spaces. It was only when hearing someone speak above or below that it became apparent that the two spaces were actually one. This piece was meant to be a visual cue that there was more to the space than the eye initially perceived.
